-- The Kaohsiung City Government continues to expand its marketing efforts in the Singapore market. In 2026, it has once again partnered with Singapore’s leading retail chain, NTUC FairPrice, to launch the “2026 Taiwan Fair: The Best of Kaohsiung” taking place from April 9 to April 15, and having products sampling across 10 selected FairPrice outlets, including NEX, VivoCity, Jurong Point, JEM, Bukit Timah Plaza, Thomson Plaza, Causeway Point, Hillion Mall, Tampines Mall and Northpoint City.

Director-General Yao, Chih-Wang of the Agriculture Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government led a delegation to attend the opening ceremony. Other attendees included Mr. Kwok, Ka-Chun, Director for Fresh Fruits & Vegetables of FairPrice Group ; Mr. Wu, Wen-Ling, Deputy Representative of Taipei Representative Office in Singapore; Mr. Wu, Wen-Chung, Director of Economic Division, Taipei Representative Office in Singapore; and Ms. Megan Liu, Director of the Taiwan Trade Center in Singapore.
Through this promotion, Kaohsiung’s premium fresh fruits are expected to gain greater visibility in retail channels, helping to build consumer awareness and support future export growth.
The fair officially kicked off on April 10 at FairPrice Xtra Nex. Reflecting the recent enthusiasm for baseball, the opening ceremony featured a symbolic baseball first pitch. Director-General Yao served as the pitcher, representing the introduction of Kaohsiung agricultural products to the Singapore market; Director Kwok took the role of batter, representing the role of retail channels in bringing these products to consumers across Singapore; while Deputy Representative Wu served as the umpire, witnessing this collaboration.
The event concluded with a live cooking demonstration featuring water snowflake, showcasing its natural freshness and sweetness through simple preparation, boosting consumer interest and encouraging purchases.
Director-General Yao noted that this promotion features a selection of Kaohsiung products, including guava, jujube, papaya, and the specialty vegetable known as water snowflake. Together with in-store displays, product sampling, and interactive introductions, the initiative aims to help consumers better understand Kaohsiung’s agricultural products.
During the promotion period, product sampling and promotional sales will be held across 10 FairPrice outlets. Customers in Singapore are invited to visit and experience these products.
