JWAL Software celebrates its first year of advancing a mission focused on practical AI understanding and technology decision-making through coaching and executive leadership.

-- JWAL Software, a technology practice specializing in practical AI coaching and executive technology leadership, is celebrating its first year of work focused on helping organizations navigate artificial intelligence and technology decisions through hands-on guidance. The anniversary marks a year of developing the practice around a combination of software engineering, executive leadership, AI strategy, and coaching.

Over the past 12 months, JWAL Software operated as an advisory and leadership resource for organizations addressing artificial intelligence integration. The practice worked alongside executive teams and technical departments to assess current operational workflows, technology planning requirements, and organizational readiness for AI adoption.

“For me, the useful question has always been, ‘What is the team actually trying to solve this week?’” says Jacob Knight, CEO of JWAL Software. “That gives the work a place to begin. When people can connect a new technology to something already on their desk, the conversation becomes part of the work itself.”

That focus on practical work reflects the different roles Knight has held throughout his career. Before establishing JWAL Software, he spent more than 15 years working in software development and architecture, including machine learning projects, while also serving in technical leadership positions. Earlier in his career, he worked as a classroom teacher, an experience that continues to inform his emphasis on coaching and applied learning.

During its initial year of operation, the practice established a service framework covering executive AI coaching, technical architecture design, and engineering management. Depending on organizational requirements, engagements included individual and team coaching, system and vendor reviews, technology roadmap development, and fractional CTO or Chief AI Officer coverage.

Knight views coaching as an initial point of engagement because it allows organizations to begin with an existing business or technology question before determining whether broader work is appropriate. “A roadmap matters because it gives people something to discuss and sequence,” Knight states. “The part I care about is what happens after that conversation: the architecture, the people, the decisions, and the work that turns an idea into something an organization can actually use.”

In addition to client engagements, JWAL Software deployed an internal multi-agent AI system within its own technical workflow over the past year. The structure utilizes coordinated AI agents across software architecture, development, data management, design, and quality assurance to evaluate integration methods for AI tools in standard software engineering practices.

As JWAL Software reaches its first anniversary, the company is continuing its work with organizations seeking practical guidance around AI and technology. Its work is based in Layton, Utah, with engagements serving organizations across the Wasatch Front as well as remote clients nationwide.

“AI creates a lot of doors,” Knight states. “My role is to help leaders understand what each choice involves and consider which direction makes sense for their organization and their people.” The first anniversary marks a point of continuation for JWAL Software as it develops its work around AI coaching, technology leadership, and software engineering.
