-- In response to the initiative of jointly building the “Belt and Road” and implementing the deployment of “going out” in vocational education, on August 5, Jiangxi Vocational College of Mechanical and Electrical Technology sent a team of teachers to Malaysia Polytechnic University for in-depth inter-school discussions. Both parties officially signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement, and the “Smart Manufacturing Workshop” base was inaugurated at the same time. This signing is a comprehensive upgrade based on a year of construction and exploration since the signing of the cooperation framework agreement in December 2024, marking the official entry of Jiangxi Vocational College of Mechanical and Electrical Technology’s overseas localized vocational education cooperation platform into the stage of physical operation, taking the cooperation between the two schools to a new level.
The atmosphere of the inter-school discussions was warm and fruitful. The teacher team from Jiangxi Vocational College of Mechanical and Electrical Technology held a special seminar with the dean and research team of the School of Electrical Engineering at Malaysia Polytechnic University. Both sides focused on the development trends of international vocational education in the new era, discussing cooperation directions such as joint training of international talents in the field of intelligent manufacturing, co-construction and sharing of bilingual characteristic courses, two-way training of Chinese and foreign teachers, the overseas implementation of Chinese vocational education standards, and skill empowerment training for Malaysia’s local manufacturing industry, engaging in comprehensive and in-depth exchanges.
After the discussions, both schools held a grand unveiling ceremony for the physical operation of the “Smart Manufacturing Workshop”. This is Jiangxi Vocational College of Mechanical and Electrical Technology’s first overseas training base for technical and skilled talents established in Malaysia.
This discussion and agreement signing is a key measure for Jiangxi Vocational College of Mechanical and Electrical Technology to promote the internationalization of vocational education and deepen Sino-foreign vocational education cooperation. It signifies that the overseas talent training project of Jiangxi Vocational College of Mechanical and Electrical Technology has officially bid farewell to the trial operation stage and has entered a new phase of standardized, physical, and normalized operation, laying a solid foundation for the school to deepen its engagement in the ASEAN vocational education market, continuously promote vocational education going abroad, and carry out normalized overseas talent cultivation cooperation.
In the next step, the school will use the “Smart Manufacturing Workshop” as an important carrier to continuously deepen vocational education cooperation with Malaysia and ASEAN countries, constantly expand cooperation areas, enhance cooperation quality, actively export Chinese vocational education standards and high-quality educational resources, and build a friendly bridge for Sino-foreign vocational education exchanges, talent connectivity, and mutual understanding among the people.
