-- To solidly promote the effective implementation of “Vocational Education Going Abroad” and to fulfill the consensus on vocational education cooperation between China and Malaysia, from August 2 to 8, the “Smart Manufacturing Workshop” co-established by Jiangxi Vocational College of Mechanical and Electrical Technology and Universitiy Teknologi Malaysia successfully conducted summer training in industrial robotics technology skills, offering integrated theoretical and practical teaching to foreign students from multiple countries while simultaneously hosting international study exchange activities, fully showcasing the characteristics of Chinese vocational education and its educational strength.

On August 3, the summer skills training program at the “Digital‑Intelligent Skilled Craftsman Workshop” of Jiangxi Vocational College of Mechanical and Electrical Technology in Malaysia has officially commenced. To ensure standardized and sustainable training, this college dispatched an excellent team of teachers to Malaysia and formally signed a special cooperation agreement for summer skill training with Universitiy Teknologi Malaysia, laying a solid institutional foundation for the implementation of this teaching and subsequent regular overseas skill training. This training gathered over 20 students from Malaysia, Egypt, Nigeria, Yemen, Bangladesh, and other countries, focusing on cutting-edge technologies in intelligent manufacturing, precisely aligning with the talent cultivation needs of overseas industries.

During the training, the teacher team from Jiangxi Vocational College of Mechanical and Electrical Technology was present throughout the course, covering core technologies such as basic operations of industrial robots, programming, debugging and maintenance, applications of industrial vision systems, and intelligent operation and maintenance. The instructors abandoned the traditional single-theory teaching model and innovatively adopted a three-dimensional teaching model of “theory explanation + real scene demonstration + simulation training + group practical operation,” combining the learning characteristics of overseas students with real job scenarios from local enterprises, using project-based and task-driven teaching as a means to guide students to actively explore, collaborate in groups, and tackle practical challenges.

The participating students actively engaged, enthusiastically communicated, and assisted each other in discussions, diligently studying technical difficulties and efficiently transforming theoretical knowledge into practical skills and job application abilities. Through the collision of ideas and technical exchanges, they filled capability gaps and refined their professional skills, truly achieving the integration of learning and application. Everyone expressed that the training content was closely aligned with industry frontiers, highly practical, and the teaching model was lively and efficient, yielding abundant gains. They look forward to continuing to participate in the workshop series training in the future to continuously enhance their international vocational skills and comprehensive competitiveness. After the training, all students passed a comprehensive assessment and were awarded completion certificates. At the summary sharing session, outstanding student representatives shared their learning gains and experiences, resonating with all participants.

During the training period, international study groups of university students from China and Japan, as well as a summer study group from India, visited the Smart Manufacturing Workshop training base, immersively experiencing the integrated theoretical and practical vocational training model of Jiangxi Vocational College of Mechanical and Electrical Technology. The students observed industrial robot training and practical projects up close, actively exchanging questions and discussions around intelligent manufacturing technology and vocational talent cultivation models, breaking down regional and cultural barriers through technical exchanges and academic interactions, achieving skill communication, experience sharing, and cultural integration, effectively bringing Chinese and foreign youth closer together.

During this training period, Jiangxi Vocational College of Mechanical and Electrical Technology conducted concurrent competition training sessions at the “DigitalIntelligent Skilled Craftsman Workshop” in Malaysia to support preparations for the WorldSkills Competition for Vocational Colleges. It provided special technical coaching for the participating team of Universitiy Teknologi Malaysia, making every effort to help the team get ready for the WorldSkills Competition for Vocational Colleges.

This overseas skill training is an important practice for Jiangxi Vocational College of Mechanical and Electrical Technology to export high-quality vocational education resources and deepen cross-border skill cultivation. In the next step, the school will continue to rely on the overseas workshop platform to regularly conduct overseas skill training, international study exchange, digital resource co-construction, and other activities, continuously broadening the scope and depth of cooperation in vocational education between China and foreign countries, and assisting high-quality technical and skilled talents from both sides to grow together and develop jointly.
