Surveys indicate more than half of Americans still primarily prepare meals at home despite a recent uptick in takeout orders. While the nation's dedication to dinners made from scratch continues to hold fast, the what-to-make dilemma remains strong. With this in mind, cooking enthusiast and food aficionado, Immaculate Adamu of Los Angeles has launched a new food blog dubbed Immaculate Bites. —
"I launched Immaculate Bites with the mission of sharing exquisite meals from the tropics as well as other countries around the globe," said Adamu. "The recipes and meal ideas I'll be sharing pair fresh ingredients with pantry staples to create exciting dishes guaranteed to have readers and their families heading straight for the kitchen. They're simple recipes for home chefs of all levels and can easily be adapted to suit any family's food preferences."
Among the recipes currently featured on Immaculate Bites is Gumbo. Originating in West Africa, this dish is believed to have made its way to North America approximately 200 years ago and is commonly associated with Louisiana's Creole culture. Countless variations have been created over the years with Immaculate Bites' version containing chicken, sausage, shrimp and crab legs.
Jerk Chicken is another meal idea highlighted on the recently launched blog. Originating in Jamaica, the term "jerk" refers to a cooking style based on specific blends of spicy seasonings in either dry rub or marinade forms. Immaculate Bites offers a slow cooker variation as well as oven and one-pot preparation instructions.
In addition to main dishes, the blog offers recipes for breads, sides, breakfasts, desserts and beverages as well as other options. Instructions, photos and further resources are likewise provided. Ideas include African, Caribbean, South American and Asian dishes along with Southern Recipes to name a few.
Concluded Adamu, "I'm passionate about cooking and excited to have the opportunity to share my enthusiasm with others. My hope is that my blog will help people learn more about Caribbean, African and other cultures through food. I look forward to continuing this culinary journey with my readers and will continue to add new recipes from around the world as they catch my eye."
