Upon the success of her book, and her commitment to inspiring youth to reach their highest potential by using their God-given talents, Austin’s extensive community involvements and collaborative partnerships formulated through her empowerment organization for youth, ECRA Growth &Educational Services, continues to make significant impacts in the lives of youth, families, and the broader community. This young, promising author has garnered many awards and accolades; including recognitions from the NAACP National Council of Negro Women’s Ecumenical Hall of Fame, and featured author for the Meet The Author’s Turner Broadcasting Trumpet Awards. Austin has a multitude of experience collaborating with community-based organizations and serving as an instrumental voice and catalyst for change through intentional efforts that create positive programs and opportunities that improve the socio-economic well-being of today’s youth.
Furthermore, Austin serves as a voice and change agent that helps to overcome barriers within local advocacy, policy, and community-organizing endeavors through her role as a member of the Board of Directors for City Gate, Inc. a DC-based nonprofit that provides a variety of educational programs to low-income families in the DC metropolitan area.
Erica Austin continues to compel young people to maximize their potential, while utilizing their God-given talents in every aspect of their lives. She says, “I am a living testament about what can happen when you pursue your dreams and talent for God’s glory!”
