Benjamin van der Lande shared that this project will support people in regions with limited access to traditional banks.
-- HenriPay Holding N.V., a publicly traded fintech company focused on financial education and inclusion, has announced the launch of a mobile banking platform set for later this year. Co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer
The announcement follows van der Lande’s recent recognition with a 2025 Global Recognition Award. The judging panel highlighted his leadership, vision, and success in creating tools that support financial education. HenriPay’s platform helps users improve their daily money habits using goal-setting features and lessons built into the app. These tools are designed for people who may have never received formal training in managing personal finances.
Van der Lande’s journey began when he started a business at age 15. That first company failed, but instead of quitting, he repaid his debts and launched new ventures. He went on to co-build Crebos Solutions, a tech firm that served large clients like Disney and the Dutch government. Those experiences helped shape the foundation for what would become HenriPay.
HenriPay’s main product, Henri, is already showing strong results. In 2024, the company reported that 63 percent of users under the age of 25 saved more money after six months of using the app. Henri combines saving tools with suggestions that guide users based on their actions. The design is simple and encourages consistent progress.
To help its platform grow, HenriPay is investing €200 million into user safety and education. This includes features like fingerprint and face login, as well as easy-to-understand financial lessons. In Nigeria, a pilot program using Henri’s content led to users remembering 22 percent more financial knowledge compared to regular lessons.
HenriPay is also building a technology center in Nairobi, Kenya. The hub is scheduled to open in 2026 and will employ over 300 engineers. This site will support product development and help the company stay connected to the regions it serves. Van der Lande said this local hiring strategy supports both growth and community development.
“Financial empowerment is not just about providing tools—it’s about fostering long-term change,” said van der Lande. “We’re building solutions that reflect the needs of each community we support.”
