-- Golfing Better announces the development of a golf event platform designed to bring instruction, professional networking, and hospitality staffing into a connected business model. Founded by golf instructor Joe Journey, the company is in its pre-launch phase, with software development and patent-related work underway.
The platform centers on golf events as a meeting point for players, instructors, entrepreneurs, and hospitality professionals. Journey’s approach builds on the company’s existing lesson referral and staffing activities, with the broader platform intended to help participants organize events and develop relationships around the game.
“We want golf to make a significant impact in the social, daily environment, in society,” Journey says. “Golf is truly a sport for life.”
Golfing Better currently helps visitors connect with golf instruction through a location-based inquiry process on its website. Prospective students enter their ZIP code to seek a lesson. Where the company does not have a local presence, it works to match the inquiry with another instructor serving that area.
According to Journey, the company is developing software that uses AI and agent-based tools to support those connections. The broader platform remains under development, and its pre-launch status distinguishes the services already offered from the capabilities being prepared for a future rollout.
The event-centered model is intended to give the company’s different activities a shared focus. Instruction provides an entry point for people interested in learning or improving their game. Events create opportunities for participants to meet, while the company’s hospitality staffing operation connects the business with another part of the event environment.
Through its GBG community, Golfing Better also brings together people interested in golf networking and entrepreneurship. Discussions include business development and technology, with Journey encouraging members to consider how organizing a golf event might support their professional interests.
“We help people with jobs, and we show people how to become entrepreneurs themselves,” Journey says. “Then we say, do a golf event, and we show you how to launch it. This is what golf can do.”
Journey continues to work in golf instruction while developing the company. His experience teaching the game informs his interest in making golf a more regular part of people’s lives, including as a setting for family activities and professional relationships.
His longer-term ambition is to help expand the sport’s place in American culture. That ambition provides direction for Golfing Better, while the company’s immediate work remains focused on software development, its service connections, and preparations for launch.
Journey says he has funded the business himself and reinvested revenue into its development. He is seeking funding and employees to support the next stage. He also intends to recruit honorary board members after completing the company’s patent-related work.
As development continues, Journey sees cooperation among instructors, event organizers, and business owners as central to the model. The company’s referral approach reflects that view by connecting prospective students with other instructors when Golfing Better cannot serve them locally.
For Journey, the next stage involves bringing those relationships into a more coordinated platform, with the golf event serving as the common activity around which participants can connect.
“Business in general is going to creativity and cooperation,” Journey says. “The question is how we get together and feed off each other.”
