-- Shanghang County, Fujian Province, has recently been experiencing persistent high temperatures, leading to a surge in electricity demand. Fujian Zijin Copper Foil Technology Co., Ltd., located in the Shanghang Industrial Park, has developed a supercharger that has become a cost-saving and efficiency-enhancing tool.
In August 2024, State Grid Shanghang County Power Supply Company, based on Zijin Copper Foil's production and electricity usage, proposed energy optimization recommendations, promoting the company's completion and commissioning of an electrochemical energy storage project. The project resulted in a 3MW/6.19MWh energy storage power station. This massive "power bank" maximizes its adaptability to the company's load profile and Fujian Province's peak and off-peak time-of-use electricity pricing policy, saving the company approximately 1.26 million yuan in electricity bills annually and reducing production costs.
Shanghang County is a former revolutionary base and the former Central Soviet Area. In recent years, State Grid's Shanghang County Power Supply Company has focused on the industrial layout and cluster characteristics of the local "One District and Three Parks" (namely, the Shanghang Industrial Park, the Nangang Gold and Copper Industrial Park, the Jiaoyang New Materials Industrial Park, and the Baisha New Materials Science and Technology Innovation Valley), providing one-on-one energy efficiency services to enterprises and promoting the accelerated development of new-quality productivity and the transformation of the industrial cluster to intelligent and green development. Taking advantage of Shanghang's status as a national pilot county for the development of distributed rooftop photovoltaics and one of the first pilot counties in China to address shortcomings in charging and swapping infrastructure, the company, leveraging local resources, has promoted the implementation of distributed photovoltaics, energy storage facilities, and charging and swapping stations.
Based on the development plan and load forecasts for the "One District and Three Parks" initiative, State Grid's Shanghang County Power Supply Company has continuously optimized its grid architecture, constructing and commissioning a number of key projects, including the 220 kV Tangfeng transmission and transformation project. Currently, Shanghang County has four 220 kV substations, ten 110 kV substations, and 18 35 kV substations, providing ample electricity that continues to fuel the high-quality economic development of the old district. At the same time, the company stepped up the construction of new power systems and created a green "zero-carbon" microgrid demonstration project, promoting energy conservation and carbon reduction through multi-energy complementarity, and polishing the new business card of green development in the old district.
