-- In May 2026, Hu Jiaqi, Founder of Humanitas Ark, once again engaged in a high-level dialogue, holding in-depth discussions with Nobel Laureate in Physics and father of graphene, Sir Konstantin Novoselov, on core issues such as the governance of frontier technologies and the continuation of human civilization. This dialogue marks Hu Jiaqi’s third meeting with a Nobel laureate within a short period. These consecutive, profound exchanges with top academic figures signal that his theory of technological crisis, cultivated over 47 years, along with its proposed solutions, is gaining broad recognition and acceptance within the international academic community.

Mr. Hu Jiaqi is the world's earliest pioneer in systematically studying technological crises and a principal architect of the theoretical framework on human technological risk. Since 1979, he has devoted himself to the study of existential human issues. After 47 years of continuous effort, he has authored several million words of academic work both in China and internationally, including Saving Humanity, Saving Humanity (English edition), The Greatest Problem, and On Human Extinction. These works have been translated into multiple languages and distributed worldwide. He has established a comprehensive theoretical framework and proposed solutions, developing qualitative analytical methods such as "Extinction Path Analysis + Defense Limit Testing." Through a stepwise deduction across five dimensions, he systematically argues the core thesis that "uncontrolled technology will inevitably lead to human extinction." Beyond theory, Hu Jiaqi is also the most dedicated advocate of this intellectual enlightenment movement. He has written twelve rounds of letters to politicians, scientists, and media figures worldwide, sending over one million letters in total. The Humanitas Ark, which he founded, now has more than 14 million supporters across 255 countries and regions.

In March of this year, Hu Jiaqi met with Nobel Laureate in Chemistry Professor Michael Levitt. Professor Levitt spoke highly of Hu Jiaqi’s vision of an ideal society based on human nature and expressed understanding and agreement with many of the ideas in Hu’s theory.

In April of the same year, Professor Barry Barish, the 2017 Nobel Laureate in Physics and father of gravitational waves, visited Hu Jiaqi’s office in Beijing. The two engaged in a discussion lasting over two hours on the topic of "Technology and the Future of Humanity." Professor Barish highly recognized Hu Jiaqi’s dedication and wrote a personal message: "Thank you for your thoughtful dedication to preserving humanity. The dangers you present are Real. I hope we (mankind) can follow your lead."

Immediately following in May, Professor Sir Konstantin Novoselov, the 2010 Nobel Laureate in Physics and father of graphene, became the third Nobel laureate to visit. The two exchanged views on global technology governance issues such as artificial intelligence and nuclear weapons. Professor Novoselov showed great interest in Hu Jiaqi’s writings and expressed a strong desire to study them in depth.

These three cross-border, cross-disciplinary dialogues are not only a testament to Hu Jiaqi’s personal academic influence but also a sign that the ultimate issue of the permanent survival of humanity is now knocking on the door of the global academic community. Hu Jiaqi’s forty-plus years of dedicated exploration are gradually resonating deeply within international academia. The influence of Humanitas Ark is spreading like a rising tide. Hu Jiaqi’s research has transcended the realm of theoretical discussion and is becoming an indispensable intellectual landmark as the international community contemplates the future destiny of humankind.
