Footballer Thomas Beattie Did Not Let a Career-Ending Head Injury Stop Him from Becoming a Millionaire Entrepreneur

After facing a career-ending skull fracture and brain bleed, Thomas Beattie went on to become a highly successful entrepreneur.

Thomas Beattie may be best known for his football career for Hull City FC in England, but when a career-ending skull fracture and subsequent brain hemorrhage ended his career, he had to reinvent himself. Since his injury, he has had 10 surgeries to correct the damage, but he has also discovered a new sense of perseverance and drive that have helped him push through the roadblocks he faced.

His drive to exceed in everything he did began with his signing to Hull City FC at just 9. He then went on to become a professional athlete with Hull City, but an injury sidelined his ability to continue playing soccer. It was at this time that he began creating new products and services to become his income. His first attempt at entrepreneurship was an app named Ovvy, which is the top service marketplace in Singapore, topping out at #8 in the Apple store. Ovvy has 15 employees working for it now and since launch, has brought in over $1 million SG in funding.

The next company he created was the Hygiene Hub. This company helps hotels, malls, gyms, and restaurants with hygiene solutions. It now has 6 employees and is getting ready for series A funding at this time. From there came Latent Epicure, which ranks as #1 on Amazon and brings in approximately $300,000 dollars per month and is growing annually. Today, Beattie has 11 companies: Ovvy App, Hygiene Hub, Latent Epicure, Samara Capital Investments, Shake Farm, Chow Social, Roquepress, Sankalpa Group, Alexa Homes UK, North Star Investment Group, and TB6, which is a holding company that holds all of his equity. Information on each of these companies can be found on his website
