Taking centre stage in this grand celebration, CapitaLand presents a 15-metre long Fortune Snake art installation. This art piece, created in collaboration with Chinese illustrator, Tang Yiqi , is a dynamic and vibrant display that weaves together artistry, tradition, modernity, and innovation.
This stunning installation is crafted from specially designed fortune red packets, forming the basis of the 180 multi-panel hanging snake installation. Elegantly weaving through graceful curves and bends, the installation symbolises endless opportunities at every turn. A true testament to Tang Yiqi’s distinctive style, the artwork seamlessly blends animals and nature, with her artistry shining through her choice of colours and motifs, showcasing whimsical humour and surrealism to create vibrant visuals that captivate and inspire. The colourfully decorated fortune red packets were thoughtfully designed with traditional auspicious Chinese motifs such as Pineapples (symbolising luck), Peonies and Butterflies (symbolising love), Ruyi Knots (symbolising health and happiness), lucky Gold Coins (symbolising wealth), and more! Adding to the festive splendour, the Fortune Snake art installation was purposefully crafted in the shape of the auspicious number ‘8’ and the infinity symbol, signifying endless prosperity and joyous abundance.
Complementing the hanging snake art display is a free-standing art installation that invites shoppers to engage directly. Visitors can pose amidst the colourful installation and immerse themselves in Tang Yiqi’s artistry through an augmented reality experience. Perfect for photo opportunities, the free-standing display winds and bends dynamically, echoing the fluid elegance of the hanging display while adding a playful and inviting touch. Designed to captivate and intrigue, the display showcases vibrant fortune motifs, offering shoppers the chance to marvel at the intricate details and connect more deeply with the spirit of the Lunar New Year celebrations.
The Fortune Snake will be on display at Funan from 8 to 26 January and at Fountain Square at CQ @ Clarke Quay from 27 January to 12 February.

As part of the festivities to welcome the Year of the Snake, CapitaLand China has incorporated snake-themed lucky cards as iconic symbols of prosperity and fortune. These lucky cards echo the artistry of CapitaLand Singapore’s Fortune Snake art installation, creating a meaningful cross-border thematic connection. This synergy between the two markets reflects CapitaLand’s unified vision of seamlessly blending art, culture, and innovation, while celebrating tradition in a modern and creative way.
Main celebrations will take place at CapitaMall JinNiu in Chengdu and CapitaMall Xizhimen in Beijing, with additional festivities at locations such as CapitaMall SKY+, CapitaMall YuJinCheng, Raffles City Shenzhen, and Raffles City Chengdu. Enhancing the celebration further, an engaging online experience called "The Machine to Wonderland" will be launched, offering shoppers the opportunity to interact with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and create personalised "Wonder Wish Cards" in a memorable and unique way.
