Epiphan Video, a leader in professional audiovisual capture, recording, and streaming products, announces the launch of — Pearl-2™, their next generation an all-in-one live video encoder.
Pearl-2 brings live 4K video encoding and streaming to the impressive list of features it inherits from its predecessor, Pearl™. Along with 4K support, Pearl-2 adds significantly more processing power, giving it the ability to handle up to six simultaneous 1080p video signals at 30 frames per second.
David Kirk, Vice President of Product Marketing with Epiphan Video talks about the Pearl-2 platform: “We launched our original Pearl system two years ago and it continues to be a phenomenal success for Epiphan. This next-generation hardware puts Pearl at the forefront of live 4K encoding and provides the foundation for building out our roadmap of exciting new features.”
Pearl-2, like its namesake, captures, streams and records multiple video sources simultaneously. Many of Pearl-2’s hardware upgrades, including USB 3.0, XLR audio inputs, 12G SDI inputs and 4K HDMI output ports are the direct result of customer feature requests. “We have learned so much working with customers who have deployed Pearl into a wide variety of situations - from live event production to user experience labs and much more. We’ve poured that feedback into Pearl over the past two years, and we developed Pearl-2 to fulfill even more customer requests,” says Kirk.
Pearl-2 will be demonstrated at the Epiphan stand at IBC (Hall 9, stand LP6), giving attendees a change to come see it in action and meet with the Epiphan team.
