-- Dr. Shoumo Mitra, APAC Director of Crop Health R&D at Corteva agriscience (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., received the "Trendsetters To Watch Award" at the FUELD Conference. Held at the InterContinental DFC, Dubai, UAE, from December 8–10, 2025, the event brought together global innovators across multiple sectors. This distinction honors his remarkable achievements in developing crop protection technologies and biological solutions, as well as his unique ability to bridge scientific research with commercial market strategy.
Dr. Shoumo Mitra is APAC Director of R&D at Corteva agriscience, Singapore, where he oversees the development of crop protection and biologicals. Prior to this role, he was the APAC Regional Marketing Director for Corteva. With 25 years’ experience in academia and industry, he held marketing and development roles at Syngenta and Adama.
He earned his MS and PhD from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, winning the American Chemical Society’s Agrochemical Division’s Outstanding Young Scientist award for his doctoral research. He managed product development at Eco Soil Systems, where he developed live biologicals and was a tenured full professor at California State University, Pomona. He also served as a visiting professor in Australia and Egypt.
