Dr. Biplab K. Malo, Founder and CEO of Stapgen LLC, was honored with the prestigious ‘Visionaries Award’ at the Health 2.0 Conference Spring Edition, held from March 4–6, 2025, at the Luxor Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Dr. Malo was recognized for his innovative research in inflammation, bacterial infection, and plaque-related disease prevention by administering intestinal alkaline phosphatase (IAP).
--Originally from Bangladesh, Dr. Malo moved to the United States after completing high school. He earned his bachelor’s degree in inter disciplinary studies in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics from Southeast Missouri State University, followed by a doctorate in dentistry from the University of Pennsylvania in 2000. For over two decades, he has been practicing dentistry in the USA while pursuing entrepreneurial ventures focused on scientific innovation.
Dr. Malo launched his first startup in 2010, combining his clinical experience with deep-rooted knowledge in oral-systemic health connections. Drawing inspiration from his brother, Dr. MS Malo, a respected figure in IAP research, Dr. Malo explored the potential of intestinal alkaline phosphatase in addressing diseases beyond the oral cavity.
By merging his dental expertise with biochemical insights, Dr. Malo developed a method aimed at preventing or treating plaque-associated diseases such as dental caries, colorectal cancer (CRC), atherosclerosis, and dementia. His visionary work represents a shift in how oral health and gut health can influence broader systemic conditions, positioning him as a forward-thinking leader in integrative healthcare.
Accepting the award, Dr. Malo shared, "Oral health and gut health are directly connected, and they impact most chronic diseases."
He also mentioned, “I'm honored to have received the Visionary Award at the Health 2.0 Conference. It’s a great feeling to be recognized for the hard work and dedication I’ve put into my career. I’m truly grateful for the support from everyone who has helped me reach this point, and I am committed to continuing my pursuit of excellence in chronic diseases, including diabetes. Our mission is to prevent diabetes, and our vision is to see a world without diabetes.”
Dr. Biplab K. Malo's innovative approach has redefined the intersection of dental science, gut health and systemic health. His research in using intestinal alkaline phosphatase (IAP) for disease prevention marks a significant advancement in treating conditions beyond traditional dental care, illustrating his role as a pioneer in integrative healthcare solutions.
