Dr. Bikash Chowdhury Joins Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry

Dr. Bikash Chowdhury accepts an appointment at the rank of Adjunct Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry.

Dr. Bikash Chowdhury is proud to accept an appointment as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. Having joined the department on July 8, 2019, Dr. Chowdhury's main role as a preceptor is the acceptance, education, and evaluation of both medical students and residents on all aspects of medical practice. His guidance will provide them with valuable opportunities for learning through patient interviews and examination under his valuable supervision.

Dr. Bikash Chowdhury graduated from Chittagong Medical College in Bangladesh and moved to Canada in 2002 with his family. Having completed his two-year residency at the University of Western Ontario with a Canadian medical license, he is passionate about helping other Bangladesh physicians like himself transition to North America. With experience in volunteer work, Dr. Chowdhury is relentlessly working towards establishing a Bengali school in London, Ontario as a marked contribution to his community. His purpose in doing so is to ensure that the new generation never forgets their roots.

As a family physician, Dr. Chowdhury has worked in Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital near London, Ontario, as well as a medical center. To date, he continues to play the role of group facilitator after establishing the McMaster Module of Practice-Based Small Group (PBSG) Learning Program in Tillsonburg. Known to be a loving husband and father to both a son and daughter, his harbored principles in respect, devotion and compassion are exemplified through his care for his patients, colleagues and his involvement in the community. He focuses on not only the healing of his patients but also the improvement of their overall health and well being.
