-- Dr. Ahmed Abouelghit, Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist and Founder of MedLex Psychiatry Solutions, was acknowledged with the “Excellence In Healthcare Award” at the Health 2.0 Conference. The three-day healthcare event was held from December 8–10, 2025, at the InterContinental DFC in Dubai. The recognition celebrates his pivotal role in developing forensic mental health services, strengthening medico legal frameworks, and advancing specialist psychiatric training in the region.
Dr. Ahmed Abouelghit is a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist & Clinical Director of the Forensic Mental Health Service at Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar. Trained and experienced in the United Kingdom, he brings a solid foundation in modern forensic psychiatry to his leadership across the MENA region. He has led the development of Qatar’s forensic mental health service, establishing the first forensic liaison service and a comprehensive medico-legal pathway. He also leads the region’s first Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship Training Program.
Dr. Abouelghit is the Founder of MedLex Psychiatry Solutions, a regional consultancy dedicated to advancing forensic and medico-legal psychiatry training, education, and service development through ethical innovation and cross-sector collaboration.
