Design for Recovery recently awarded their — The Sober Living Scholarship to a second-year student in the Indigenous Wellness Addiction Prevention program to support his education as he continues in his sobriety journey. The scholarship was launched in line with the organization’s goal of helping people to start their journey towards a better life, considering the importance of education to the cause.
The disturbing increase in abuse of substance requires the attention of all stakeholders, especially as struggling addicts often require a helping hand to ease their sobriety journey. Recent reports have it that drug overdoses claim over 70,000 American lives yearly, a trend that needs to be halted as soon as possible.
