Dave Kittok has been endorsed by Marquis Who’s Who as a leader in the engineering industry

Marquis Who's Who has recognized Dave Kittok for his remarkable career and leadership in the engineering industry. This prestigious honor acknowledges Mr. Kittok's extensive experience, outstanding contributions and professional success, particularly in the fields of fluid power technology and automation.

Marquis Who's Who, renowned for documenting the lives of accomplished individuals since 1899, has included Mr. Kittok in its esteemed registry. This recognition is based on a rigorous evaluation of career achievements and industry impact. Such affirms Mr. Kittok's status as an influential figure in engineering and automation, celebrating his past contributions and ongoing impact in the field.

Mr. Kittok's career is proof of reinvention and lifelong learning. "I was a farmer before I entered college," Mr. Kittok recalls. "I studied hard and worked nights to complete this part of my education. My success is due to God’s blessing and guidance."

The 1985 Farm Bill led to financial struggles, prompting Mr. Kittok to seek a new path. In 1989, he enrolled at Hennepin Technical College for fluid power technology, a decision that would shape his future career.

Mr. Kittok's expertise in programmable logic controllers (PLC) control led him to become an adjunct professor at the same institution, teaching while simultaneously advancing his career in the private sector. "One of the best ways to really learn a subject is by teaching it to others," Mr. Kittok explains. His night classes often became problem-solving sessions for industry professionals, pushing him to expand his knowledge and develop advanced solutions.

While teaching, Mr. Kittok gained valuable experience in various roles, including maintenance specialist, programmer and process engineer at QX Corporation, maintenance technician at Precision Engineering, maintenance technician at Tool Products, control engineer at Eagle Tool & Design and controls engineer at Sterling Automation from 1996 to 2005. These positions allowed him to refine his skills in control design, process control, computer hard drive rescues, PLC programming and HMI design and programming.

Drawing on his extensive experience, Mr. Kittok now excels as the owner of Height Technology LLC, providing clients with top-notch system design, integration, programming, automation and data acquisition services. His achievements have been recognized beyond this recent award. He has been featured in Millennium Magazine, named a Marquis Who's Who Top Engineer, and received accolades from Hennepin Technical College as both Student of the Quarter and Student of the Year.

"Never quit learning. Do your absolute best, and realize some projects take you longer than you originally thought," Mr. Kittok advises. “A day is not wasted if you learn something new."

Mr. Kittok notes significant advancements in his field, particularly in the speed of PLCs. "The latest generation of controllers is amazingly fast. We're talking microseconds," he explains. "Some of them are zipping along at 20 microseconds to do the task, and you go, 'I don't know if I can think that fast.'" This increased speed brings both benefits and challenges, highlighting the importance of staying current with technological developments.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Kittok has contributed to his community through his local church, serving as a treasurer and chairman on the board of elders for a total of 28 years. Mr. Kittok also was very active in the ministry of telling Bible stories to children for almost 18 years for kid’s clubs and Vacation Bible school. Another ministry was involvement for 7 years in Bible quizzing with Bible Quiz Fellowship.

Throughout his career, he has relied on his faith and the support of his wife, Kristie. As Height Technology LLC grows, he plans to find a successor for his business and enjoy retirement travels with his wife. Together they raised 4 wonderful children and at present have 5 grandchildren, that light up their lives.

"Receiving the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award testifies to the dedication and hard work that have defined my career," said Mr. Kittok. "I am deeply honored and grateful for this recognition."
