Databahn.ai has introduced a new AI-powered platform, 'Data Reef', which the company says drastically reduces the time required to find meaningful insights within large volumes of security data. Previously, security teams could spend up to an hour sifting through data; with Data Reef, that time drops to seconds.
The new platform is built to interpret security telemetry—logs, alerts, and other data—at high speed and volume. It automatically filters and prioritizes relevant information and writes the results to the company’s data infrastructure. The platform is aimed at helping enterprises extract useful information from the less than 5 percent of collected telemetry that typically gets analyzed.
“Security teams don’t need more dashboards—they need answers,” said Mihir Nair, Head of Architecture & Innovation at Databahn.ai. “We’ve designed a way for teams to ask a single question and get results they can act on immediately.”
Data Reef is powered by the company’s new Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server and works alongside its Cruz AI assistant, Databahn.ai’s virtual data engineer. Users can interact with the system using natural language to pull configuration details, system inventories, and potential anomalies.
The tool builds on Databahn.ai’s existing Security Data Fabric, pulling data from different systems into one searchable layer. This approach is intended to support a range of users, from security analysts and auditors to automated AI-driven systems.
Co-founder and President Nithya Nareshkumar described the Reef as a shift from passive storage models. “Unlike lakes or swamps, Reef is active,” she said. “It’s where your logs stop sitting idle and start telling a story.”
