Dark Watch Raises $3.5M Seed Round to Advance Pre-Arrival Intelligence for Commerce

Dark Watch is expanding its embedded safety intelligence platform for payment, identity, reservation, and real-world commerce systems.

-- Dark Watch, a real-time threat intelligence company building embedded safety intelligence for modern commerce infrastructure, is pleased to announce the close of an oversubscribed $3.5 million seed funding round. The round was led by Eagle Venture Fund, with participation from His Kingdom Resources and Blu Ventures, and closed in late December.

The funding will support Dark Watch’s continued product development, intelligence network expansion, deeper integrations across payment and enterprise platforms, and global commercial deployments. The company is focused on helping platforms identify high-risk actors before transactions are approved, access is granted, or incidents occur.

According to Dark Watch, modern commerce increasingly depends on digital systems that shape real-world interactions. Payments, reservations, identity verification, onboarding, and marketplace access now influence not only financial outcomes, but also the safety of employees, customers, guests, and physical environments. As these systems become more connected, traditional security models that rely on after-the-fact detection are becoming less effective.

To address this, Dark Watch was founded to help shift security earlier in the decision process. Instead of waiting for fraud, harm, or suspicious activity to surface after a transaction clears, the company embeds AI-powered threat intelligence directly into the infrastructure where critical decisions are made.

“Criminal networks exploit the same infrastructure that powers modern commerce; payments, reservations, and digital identity systems,” says Noel Thomas, CEO of Dark Watch. “Businesses shouldn’t have to choose between seamless user experience and safety. Dark Watch embeds real-time threat intelligence directly into those systems to stop bad actors before a transaction is approved or access is granted, without disrupting legitimate users. This funding allows us to scale that capability across platforms globally.”

At its core, Dark Watch’s platform combines advanced AI models, proprietary deep web intelligence, and a unified data architecture to analyze signals across more than 1,400 intelligence sources. The system maps risk indicators across more than 450 million global profiles in real time, delivering discreet risk signals at the moment payment, identity, onboarding, reservation, or access decisions are made.

This approach allows platform partners to deploy proactive safety intelligence through a single integration. For payment platforms, financial institutions, marketplaces, and reservation systems, Dark Watch supports a more preventive model of security that operates upstream, before risk enters the broader ecosystem.

The company’s technology is designed to identify high-risk individuals before arrival—including those connected to trafficking networks, financial fraud, violent behavior, repeat offenses, and other harmful activity—while maintaining a privacy-first approach that avoids storing sensitive personal data, enabling teams to take proactive steps that protect people and the broader environment without disrupting legitimate visitors.

“We’re excited by the traction Dark Watch has achieved across payments, financial services, marketplaces, and real-world commerce platforms,” states Ted Olsen, Partner at Blu Venture Investors. “This round positions the company to scale its product and go-to-market capabilities, bringing advanced intelligence solutions to a broader and increasingly global customer base.”

The seed round comes as businesses and platform operators face rising expectations around safety, trust, and prevention. As digital infrastructure continues to shape access to services, reservations, financial systems, and real-world environments, companies are under pressure to identify risk earlier without adding friction for legitimate customers.

Dark Watch is positioning its embedded safety intelligence layer as part of that next stage of commerce security. The company’s work reflects a broader shift away from reactive response and toward real-time prevention, where risk signals are delivered before critical decisions are finalized.

With new funding and growing traction across payments, financial services, marketplaces, and commerce platforms, Dark Watch plans to expand its intelligence capabilities and bring proactive security infrastructure to more partners globally.
