-- As nearly two million visitors pass through North Texas during FIFA World Cup 2026 festivities, Dallas developer and downtown advocate Tanya Ragan says the experience has offered an unexpected reminder of what makes Dallas special.
In a new Tanya Out Loud blog titled Sometimes It Takes Visitors to Remind Us What We Have, Ragan reflects on the energy, optimism, and international attention currently focused on Dallas and North Texas.

"Over the last few weeks, I've met international visitors from all over the world exploring Dallas," said Ragan. "Watching people experience our city through fresh eyes has been a reminder that we sometimes spend so much time debating Dallas that we forget to appreciate it."
Ragan, President of Wildcat Management and a longtime downtown Dallas property owner, describes packed neighborhood restaurants, conversations with visitors from around the world, and the excitement surrounding FIFA World Cup 2026 as evidence of Dallas' growing global profile.
The article also draws parallels to a recent visit from Japanese investors evaluating opportunities in Texas.
"What I remember most wasn't the business conversation," Ragan wrote. "It was their enthusiasm. They saw the skyline, the neighborhoods, the restaurants, the people, and the opportunity. Most importantly, they saw possibility."
According to Ragan, the same factors attracting FIFA visitors are also helping place Dallas, Downtown Dallas, and North Texas on the radar of investors, businesses, and residents from around the world.
"I used to tell people I got to Texas as fast as I could," said Ragan. "Now I tell people I just got a head start."
