Phil Cannella and Joann Small of the Crash Proof Retirement Show are pleased to announce that they are once again partnering with CBS Radio for the 14th Annual “98.1 WOGL Loves Our Kids” Radiothon. Once a year, the Philadelphia radio station 98.1 WOGL-FM holds the charity event for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Last year, the event raised $681,575 over a period of four days. On September 10th, Crash Proof Retirement will host a charity event at the William Penn Inn, Gwynedd, Pa to raise money for CHOP. —
The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia was the first pediatric hospital to be established in the United States and is now a world renowned facility. Since the hospital opened its doors in 1855, it has fostered medical advancements in the field of pediatric healthcare and has changed the lives of children around the globe. The hospital holds celebrated programs in fetal diagnosis and treatment, cardiac care, orthopedics, oncology, and many others. The final total will be announced live at the event and on air at 98.1 WOGL-FM. WOGL is Philadelphia’s station for the greatest hits from the decades of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. The radio station is owned by CBS RADIO, one of the largest owners and radio station operators in the United States. Part of the CBS Corporation, CBS Radio owns and operates 117 radio stations across the country with the majority in the top 50 markets in the nation. CBS Corp. owns multiple Philadelphia radio stations including KYW, WIP-FM, WZMP, as well as other sister stations to WOGL.
Since 2010, Crash Proof Retirement has become the single largest donor to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia through this radiothon event, donating a grand total of $275,000. “We plan on adding to that number, but this time is different. This time our guests at the Crash Proof Retirement educational event can create their own impact and Crash Proof a child’s future,” Mr. Cannella said. “For every guest who attends this special Thursday evening Educational Event, Crash Proof Retirement will donate $250 to CHOP,” he explained.
