CEO Thomas L. Eddington announced that FutureShapers LLC, a professional services firm providing transformational leadership development programs for executives, is forming Executive Peer Group Roundtables in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. “We are delighted that international business consultant Paul G. Ward, Ph.D., will be hosting these South Florida Roundtables to support members in becoming more conscious leaders – more effective in how they lead, work, and live,” said Eddington.Ward is also an international strategy execution consultant, adjunct professor, business owner and one of the leaders of the Florida Chapter of Conscious Capitalism.
An alternative to leadership trainings, peer groups have become very popular with executive and have proven to be more effective than traditional training. Peer groups of executives coming together regularly to support one another in their aspirations helps accelerate members’ rapid growth in capacity and effectiveness.
By contrast, in a recent survey of over 300 executives on their perceptions and experiences of leadership development, only 4.3% rated their leadership development as “very effective.” Yet tens of billions of dollars are spent each year by U.S. corporations despite the overwhelming majority view amongst those who authorize these expenditures that they are not getting good return on the time and monies spent.
One of the main premises of FutureShapers is that great leadership begins with personal wisdom and personal wisdom is a function of the consciousness the leader brings to the situation. “More and more companies are implementing consciousness into their cultures, not only in Silicon Valley, but throughout the world,” Eddington added, “suggesting real corporate value is being created by such activities as consciousness practices.”
