Meet Kevin Bookbinder, Kennewick Attorney
Kevin Bookbinder was born in Austin, Texas and has lived in California, Arkansas, England, Florida, and Washington State. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with a minor in business from The University of Texas at Austin. While attending the University of Texas, Kevin received several honors, including being named an Honor Scholar from 2007-2009.
In 2012, Kevin received his Juris Doctorate Degree from Florida State University, with honors. While at Florida State University, Kevin was a member of the Florida State University Journal of Transnational Law and Policy, and he received certificates in International Law and Human Rights Law.
While in law school, Kevin completed an internship overseas with a law firm in London. While working in London, Kevin worked on a variety of civil law matters -- including contract, employment, and tort law.
Upon graduation from law school, Kevin took a position with the Public Defender’s Office for the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Florida. During his 32 months as an Assistant Public Defender, Kevin represented over 1,500 criminal defendants on a wide variety of criminal defense cases -- including life felonies. Kevin has handled nearly every criminal defense issue which can arise -- including DUI, Theft, Drug Possession, Domestic Violence, and Violation of Probation cases.
In addition to criminal defense, Kevin's practice also encompasses Family Law, Estate Planning and Administration Legal Services, Elder Law and Probate, Construction Law, Personal Injury, and General Civil Litigation.
Kevin is licensed to practice in Washington State and in Florida. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the Florida Bar Assocation.
Meet Teresita Varela, Kennewick Attorney
Teresita was born in New York, New York and raised in Central Florida. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Hodges University in Naples, Florida and her Juris Doctorate degree from the Gonzaga University School of Law.
Teresita has provided a wide range of legal services to her clients since 2012, including federal tax assistance, criminal defense, estate planning, and family law. Her experience includes providing Indian law expertise and tribal jurisdiction analysis for federal clients including the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
Teresita began her legal career as a legal researcher for Kauffman & Associates, Inc. in Spokane, Washington. Thereafter, she opened her own law practice dedicated to Family Law Attorney serving Kennewick, Pasco and Richland WAand criminal defense prior to becoming a Kennewick Attorney.
Teresita is licensed to practice law in Washington State. She is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, and the Spokane County Bar Association.
