The 2024 Citizenship by Investment (CBI) Index, launched last Wednesday, once again solidifies its reputation as the leading benchmark for evaluating global citizenship by investment programmes.

This annual report, released under the theme 'Transparency Meets Transition: A CBI Reset,' explores the evolving landscape of CBI programmes, providing a detailed analysis of the challenges, opportunities, and ongoing efforts to enhance transparency and collaboration within the sector.

With over 12 jurisdictions featured in the report, the CBI Index remains a comprehensive tool for investors and policymakers to assess the global competitiveness and quality of CBI programmes.

For the fourth consecutive year, Caribbean’s St. Kitts and Nevis has claimed the top spot, scoring an impressive 84 per cent, reaffirming its leadership in the CBI industry. Dominica follows closely at 80 per cent, while Grenada and Saint Lucia round out the top performers with 77 per cent and 74 per cent, respectively.

Caribbean nations continue to dominate the rankings, with four of the top five positions held by island states, reflecting their strong reputation for processing efficiency, robust vetting, and the global mobility offered through their programmes.

The report highlights the enduring success of what has been dubbed "The Caribbean Five," noting their balanced approach to delivering secure, effective, and competitive citizenship solutions.  According to the 2024 CBI Index, these nations have shown resilience in adapting to regulatory demands while maintaining their appeal to investors seeking alternative citizenship options.

“Our Index showed the strength of the Caribbean region in its results, with leaders such as St. Kitts and Nevis, Dominica and Grenada consistently strong in their scores for a variety of factors which underpin the CBI Index,” CBI Index further noted.

As the global CBI industry continues to evolve, the 2024 Index serves as a critical resource for stakeholders navigating the complexities of the citizenship by investment sector. The focus on transparency and collaboration, as underscored in this year's theme, signals a collective shift towards fostering trust and ensuring the sustainability of CBI programmes worldwide.

This edition of the CBI Index reinforces its role as the definitive guide for evaluating the strength and future trajectory of citizenship by investment programmes across the globe.
