Two Mother-Daughter Management Teams Detail Challenges of Transition to Next Generation; Pat Soldano, President Family Enterprise USA Moderates Panel Discussion and Unveils New Family Business Research

-- On June 3, California State University’s Center for Family Business will hold a workshop entitled “Legacy and Longevity,” focused on how family-owned businesses shape legacy across generations.

In addition, new findings on the state of America’s family-owned businesses will be unveiled by Pat Soldano, President of Family Enterprise USA and Family Enterprise USA Action.

The limited seating event is designed to be a “candid conversation” with two mother-daughter teams navigating real-world challenges and the generational transitions their family businesses face.

The workshop event will be held from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM and will be in the university’s O’Brien Center Mihaylo Hall.

The mother-daughter speakers are Sherri Bovino, Chief Executive Officer, Global - A 1st Flagship Co., Irvine, Calif., and her daughter Paige Kavooras, Executive Vice President, at the government contractor company.

The other mother-daughter team is Cindy Ayloush, Chief Executive Officer, Hydraflow, Fullerton, Calif., and her daughter, Sasha Ayloush, Vice President. Hydraflow is a maker of fluid components for the aerospace and technology industries.

In addition to these speakers, Family Enterprise USA’s Soldano will present on “The Challenges of Family Businesses to Create a Legacy.”

During her talk, Soldano will review results of the recent Family Enterprise USA 2026 Annual Family-Owned Business Survey. The survey asked questions of 716 family-owned businesses on such subjects as wealth taxes, pressing economic concerns of family businesses, and insights on passing businesses on to the next generation.

Soldano will also assist with moderating a panel discussion along with Tim Shultz, Director, Center for Family Business at California State University.

“The event is designed to give attendees practical insight on leadership transition, family dynamics, and sustaining long-term success,” said Shultz, about the event. “Legacy isn’t built in a moment—it’s shaped across generations.”
