Brian Barber is an Educator, Rapper, and Author born in Washington, DC, and raised in Fort Washington, Maryland. Authentic and charismatic, he draws on his experience as a longtime educator to create engaging learning materials for children. Since 2003, Brian has taught in Prince George’s County, leading music classes for Pre-K through sixth grade and core subjects for second- and fifth-grade students.
A seasoned hip-hop artist, he blends creativity with pedagogy to inspire young learners. Brian holds Bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education and Visual Communication & Digital Media Arts from Bowie State University and a Master’s in Education from Trinity University—forming the foundation of his persona, Mr. New-School.
