-- Brazilian social enterprise EBCF has been at the vanguard of conserving the Amazon forest. The organization is leveraging on carbon trading and selling carbon credits to institutions across the world that may want to offset their carbon emissions. Carbon credits or offsets may be defined as greenhouse gas emissions reduced from the atmosphere from a “ green” project. These credits can then be bought by governments or companies to compensate for the emissions they release in the atmosphere.

EBCF also runs economic programs to more than 3000 natives who participate to the harvest of timber-free products such as superfood that are distributed worldwide. In conjunction with local communities across the amazon, EBCF is actively managing its privately-owned reserve at the heart of the Amazonian rainforest. Social projects are a key component of its activities with emphasis on healthcare, education, housing and women empowerment.

It is on this notion and mission to protect Amazonia’s biodiversity that EBCF has launched the world’s first regulated green coin focused on conserving the Amazon ecosystem – the AMA Coin. This coin is focused on promoting a four pronged agenda: sustainable development of local communities, environmental conservation, carbon offsetting and sustainable harvesting of non-timber products.

The AMA Coin Project

The ICO will be launched by a dedicated Swiss subsidiary of EBCF and is under approval by Swiss Market Authority (FINMA). ICO participants will not only help in sustaining the Amazon, but they will also use the AMA Coin to purchase other products that will be launched in the market.
Notable products that will be launched include Amabank and AMA Coin card. Amabank will focus on empowering the local communities and provide an alternative banking solution that is premised on conserving the environment and fostering impact investment initiatives. Campaigns are already underway to onboard the local communities into this bank and the response has been encouraging. AMA Coin card is a prepaid card that will be used to purchase goods and services across the world like a normal debit/credit card.

Plans are also at an advanced stage to launch a mobile app that users can use to track their carbon footprints. The app will also enable users to trade in carbon credits. EBCF is developing this app in close collaboration with Cielo.

Funds from the ICO will also be channeled into the following projects: sustainable and ecofriendly trading, enforcement of climate projects and social projects within the amazon rainforest.

AMA Coin will launch a private sale round on 1st November 2019. The coin will be sold for a discount of 20%. After this, there will be a Pre ICO from December to January where the coin will discount at 10%. The main ICO will start from February till April of 2020. A total of 67.8 billion coins will be sold. The retail price of AMA Coin will be $0.077 for every 10 AMA (AMA Coins). Participants can purchase the coins using ETH, BTC or Fiat Currencies (CHF, USD, GBP, EUR).

Purchasing AMA Coin is investing in the future of the planet. The coin is an Ethereum based token and will work on the waves platform. It is also completely decentralized and ICO participants need not have any prior knowledge of blockchain or cryptocurrencies.
