-- Beyond Research Labs LLC (BR Labs) has formally unveiled the operational performance of BRRRolver, its production solver competing to execute trades on CoW Protocol. The system puts a central idea of the agentic economy into practice in decentralized finance (DeFi): a person defines an acceptable result, while software determines how to pursue it and competes for the order.
An intent lets a user specify the trade outcome they will accept instead of choosing the pool or route. Solvers search available liquidity and submit competing settlement proposals, which CoW Protocol evaluates to select the winning solutions. The protocol’s contracts enforce the user’s signed trading conditions. This shifts route selection from the user to specialized systems competing for the order.
BR Labs began operating BRRRolver on Base in 2025. In a January 2026 update, the company reported that the solver had reached $100 million in total volume on Base during its first months of operation. BRRRolver subsequently expanded to Ethereum mainnet in February 2026.
Revaz (Rezo) Shmertz, co-founder and Managing Partner of BR Capital and founder of BR Labs, describes BRRRolver as part of the team’s progression from investor to active market participant. BR Capital backed CoW Swap; BR Labs built BRRRolver to compete for and execute users’ trades.
The promise of the agentic economy is that people can delegate work to software agents that determine how to carry it out. While broad technology narratives frame AI agents as virtual co-workers or specialized teams that still require human supervision, intent-based trading already puts that division of work into practice in a specific financial task: the user chooses the trade’s outcome and limits, and competing solvers determine the execution route.
In Revaz Shmertz’s view, solvers are autonomous agents already doing financial work. They determine how to execute a user’s trade within its stated limits, rather than decide which investment the user should make. BRRRolver operates behind the trading venue, not as a consumer trading application. CoW Protocol rewards successful settlement, so its competition gives these systems a financial reason to deliver executable trades. The user becomes a client of competing professional executors.
BRRRolver grew out of the team’s research into CoW Protocol’s market structure, auction design and solver incentives. Shmertz describes that research as preparation for building professionally in the solver market. The team published what it learned, and its analysis of CoW Protocol’s auction mechanisms and rewards is available through the current BR Labs publication.
BR Labs also makes BRRRolver’s auction results available through its public BRRRolver dashboard.
