-- Bongo Burger proudly announces this week is the 50th anniversary of the restaurant opening in Berkeley, California. The company runs three locations on the Southside, Northside and Downtown Berkeley and has been providing award-winning burgers since its inception. The Bongo Burger on Center Street moved to this location in 1992, and Oxford Development Group, the property management group, takes great pride in having this authentically Berkeley restaurant as a long time tenant of the Berkeley Restaurant Row.
"Since our doors opened in 1967, our restaurant has served as a staple in the Berkeley community. Due to the success we had at the original restaurant, we opted to open two more, one in 1982 and another in 1997. This allows us to serve more customers using a hands-on approach while still being present every day. In addition, we provide the best quality when it comes to our food, and our customers appreciate this," says co-owner Hossein Adabi.
Customers choose from a variety of favorites on the Bongo Burger menu, including the popular Persian Burger Sandwich, a seasoned, ground lamb sandwich made using Niman ranch meat with a special sauce on a long baguette. The Falafel is another customer favorite and features four falafel patties served with their own special tahini sauce in a toasted pita. Other favorites that remain on the menu today include the All American and the Mushroom Burger.
"Bongo Burger's menu offers something for everyone, even individuals who prefer vegan, low-fat and gluten-free options. We are always improving. If there is a better quality produce, we switch to that produce. We believe in providing gourmet fast," Hossein Adabi declares.
Customers love the food options, stating it is a great place to get a burger fast. The prices are fair, and the service is good even when the restaurant is crowded. While the venue is no-frills, as one customer stated, the food definitely isn't. Individuals who have yet to try this restaurant located in Berkeley Restaurant Row may wish to do so today.
