-- Beth Ryan, Executive Director and Founder of Stepping Forward LA, was presented with the “Entrepreneurial Excellence Award” at the Founders 2.0 Conference. The three-day business conference was held from April 7–9, 2026, at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, USA. The award honors leaders who demonstrate exceptional impact through innovation, leadership, and purpose-driven initiatives across their respective fields.

As the Founder of Stepping Forward LA, a non-profit in Los Angeles that supports foster youth aging out of the foster care system, Beth has been a fierce advocate and compassionate leader for young adults navigating adulthood. She has created programs to ensure these young adults have not only the professional skills and knowledge they need to be successful, but also the personal development and confidence in themselves.
Beth’s experience in computers, startups, large and small non-profit organizations, and corporate environments allows her to assess situations and find creative solutions. And her community organizing and relationship-building skills allow Beth to build partnerships and collaborations, ensuring the stability and growth of her organization.
Beth shared her thoughts upon receiving the award at the business conference, stating, “When I learned that we allowed foster youth to age out of the foster care system without support, my entire life changed. I didn’t know what I could do, but I knew that I would do anything and everything I could to make sure that these young adults felt supported and loved and encouraged to live full lives. And to receive this recognition and award is so affirming and I’m so grateful.”
Her recognition at the business conference highlighted the importance of leaders who are committed to creating structured pathways for personal and professional development, particularly for young individuals transitioning into independent life. Beth’s work continues to focus on expanding opportunities that build confidence, capability, and long-term resilience.

About Stepping Forward LA
Los Angeles County is home to the nation’s largest foster care system. Each year, more than 1,500 young adults “age out” without a permanent family to guide them toward adulthood.
Founded in 2017, Stepping Forward LA is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit that empowers young adults aging out of foster care to transition successfully to adulthood and reach their fullest potential. Designed to elevate the voices of young adults who have been through foster care, the organization takes pride in hiring individuals with personal experience in foster care. In addition to hiring former foster youth on staff, it engages them in its internship program, co-mentoring community, and Board of Directors. When one donates to SFLA, they will help a young adult get their first job, secure safe housing, build confidence, pursue a brighter future, and so much more.
