BELK Tiles Receives 2017 Best of Columbus Award Sixth Year Running

Six consecutive wins propels company into Columbus Business Hall of Fame, publishes

One well-known local company recently reached a milestone in its time line. Earlier this month, BELK Tile received the Columbus Award Program's 2017 Best of Columbus Award in the Ceramic Tile Contractors category. This marks the company's sixth consecutive win in its division as a nationwide distributor of tiles as well as other kitchen and bath decor and accessories. The annual awards program recognizes achievements and accomplishments of local businesses across the Columbus area. Winners are selected based on their leadership, customer service, community involvement and dedication to best business practices among other attributes.

Due to BELK Tile's long-running success, the company was also inducted into the 2017 Columbus Business Hall of Fame. Columbus Award Program officials point out the company is one of an elite few to have earned this distinction.

In regard to the accolade, owner Mike Belk stated, "BELK Tile was founded with the mission of giving home and business owners an unprecedented combination of style, selection and quality. Over the years, we've expanded our product range to include a massive variety of sizes, colors and materials perfect for everything from decorative outdoor side tables to fireplace surrounds and much more. We're proud to supply our products to customers across the country while serving our own communities right here at home."

Among BELK Tile's products are glass mosaic tiles, commonly incorporated into projects ranging from small-scale artworks to kitchen and bathroom accents along with other purposes. Likewise part of the company's selection are metal accent tiles. These have been deemed decorative as well as functional by contractors and design experts. Available from the company in aluminum, antique copper, stainless steel, brushed gun metal and cast options, pieces falling into this category are often used in walls, ceilings and flooring in addition to numerous other applications.

Subway tiles first appeared in New York's underground train stations more than a century ago. In light of durability, stain resistance and decorative nature, the subway tile backsplash has since been implemented in homes and businesses. Initially made of ceramic, subway-style tiles are now offered in various media and have extended beyond their original dimensions of three inches in height by six inches in length.
