Continuing its growth and global expansion strategy, Artek US, a leading player in the specialty chemicals industry worldwide and a subsidiary of the Praana Group, recently expanded the energy-related services of Sterling Specialty Chemicals in Houston.

In response to the increasing worldwide demand for water, energy and environmentally friendly solutions Sterling Specialty Chemicals has expanded its market position, further establishing it as a dynamic, robust, global specialty chemicals business, focused on developing secure, affordable, and sustainable energy solutions.

Praana Group Board, Vice Chairman, Vishal Goenka said of the acquisition, “this strategic move positions Praana as a major player in the global specialty chemicals landscape. It enhances Sterling’s expertise and resources and highlights our dedication to innovation that enables us to provide cutting-edge solutions that address the world’s pressing needs for water, energy, and sustainability.”

Sterling Specialty Chemicals is now firmly positioned to bring customers value throughout the energy chain –from exploration to refining. By reducing water and energy consumption while transporting fluids in oilfields, extracting more oil with reduced CO2 emissions with polymer flooding, and providing clean water and restoration of tailing ponds in oil sands, Sterling Specialty Chemicals can fully support customers in the energy transition.

“The merger is not only a strategic move for business expansion, but also underscores Sterling Specialty Chemicals commitment to driving positive change in the industry,” said Pedro Materan, President & CEO of Sterling Specialty Chemicals.

Sterling will continue to expand from its leading position in the energy rheology modification market, chemically enhanced oil recovery and the Canadian energy tailing water and selected industrial applications.
