AloT Innovative Application Ecosystems Summit Successfully Held in Shenzhen, Charting a New Future for Intelligent Connectivity

-- The "AloT Innovative Application Ecosystem Summit (WAIA-IOTE 2025)" was successfully held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. Co-organized by the World AI & IoT Innovation Alliance (WAIA Alliance) and UlinkMedia, the event gathered industry leaders, policymakers, scholars, and corporate representatives from over ten countries and regions, including Italy, Canada, Malaysia, Indonesia, Germany, Spain, Dubai, Singapore, India, Vietnam and China. Attendees discussed AIoT applications and trends in retail, logistics, manufacturing, energy, healthcare, and agriculture. A number of key cooperation agreements were signed to advance global AIoT market integration and industrial collaboration.

The summit opened at 14:00 with addresses by WAIA Co-Chairman Weiqi Yang (William Yang), highlighting global cooperation for AIoT innovation and industry-finance integration, and Secretary-General Steffi Sun, outlining WAIA’s role in advancing the global AIoT ecosystem.

Multiple international guests shared insights into regional market demands and collaborative models. Alessandro Bassi, President of IoT Italy, elaborated on the European AIoT ecosystem and pathways for green transformation in manufacturing, highlighting the importance of IoT technologies for sustainable development.

Salvatore Cimmino, Co-Founder of AIoT Canada, discussed Canada’s innovative role in the global AIoT landscape and called for strengthened Sino-Canadian cooperation in areas such as hardware supply chains and AI algorithms.

Zihang Yin, Expert from the Industrial Internet and loT Institute, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), systematically presented the core value and practical progress of Digital Product Passports (DPP) in facilitating global trade.

Spencer Liang, Chairman of the Taiwan Generative AI Association, demonstrated integrated applications of generative AI in smart city and IoT innovations, and analyzed cross-strait collaboration opportunities in AI chips and open-source ecosystems.

Ir. Fadli Hamsani, Chairman of the Indonesian Industrial Digital Transformation Council, introduced AIoT pilot projects in Indonesian manufacturing, energy, and agriculture sectors, and shared Telkomsel’s experience in promoting industrial digitalization through 5G and edge computing.

Dr. Thinagaran Perumal, Chairman of the Technical Committee on the loT and Digital Twin, Department of Standards Malaysia, Faculty of Computer Science and IT, Malaysian UPM University, delivered a speech titled "AIoT in Malaysia: Applications, Potential, and Investment Opportunities". He highlighted use cases in smart manufacturing, agriculture, and healthcare, and outlined national strategies and tax incentives for AIoT development.

Heng Zhang, Founder, Chairman & CEO, TGT Technology Global Inc., proposed an integrated "vSIM + eSIM + Satellite" network solution, already covering 200 countries and over 300 operators, to provide one-stop compliant connectivity for global Intelligent Industry.

In addition, representatives from companies including Deutsche Telekom, FutureOS, Dubai Expo City, China Mobile IoT Company, and SEEKINK shared typical applications of AIoT in e-paper, and other fields.

Alex Shang, the Head of IOT Automotive China at Deutsche Telekom AG, introduced the company's strengths in communication networks and digital transformation. He emphasized pursuing mutual benefits through resource sharing to advance industry digitalization.

Magd Zoorob, CEO of FutureOS of Dubai Expo City, and Mr. Mark Luo, Business Development Manager, highlighted their expertise in smart park operations and digital platforms. They aim to expand their technology to more scenarios and strengthen global cooperation.

Fan Min, Deputy General Manager of China Mobile IoT Shenzhen, presented the "RINGA Smart Park" solution integrating IoT and cloud computing. It has served over 2,800 projects in 14 countries and will see increased R&D for global expansion.

Erika Xiao, Senior Business Development Manager at SEEKINK, introduced cutting-edge e-paper solutions such as smart badges, nameplates, logistics labels, phone cases and creative decorations by E Ink Prism color-changing display. With the feature of ultra-low power consumption, these sustainable displays are a natural fit for IoT applications in offices, retail, logistics, and consumer electronics. She highlighted the exciting potential of linking ePaper with IoT networks to create smarter and greener environments, and welcomed deeper cooperation with IoT partners to advance the digital AIoT industry.

During the summit, WAIA Alliance signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with partners including IoT Italy, AIoT Canada, AIoT Association for Africa, Association of Technology and Industry Security Indonesia, FutureOS of Dubai Expo City. These collaborations will focus on cross-border exhibitions, resource sharing, matchmaking, demo projects, expert reviews, and community building to advance the AIoT ecosystem. Among them, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), WAIA, AIM Asia, Malaysian Change Maker Association, the Association of Technology and Industry Security Indonesia jointly announced MoU collaboration on the promotion and system construction of Digital Product Passports (DPP) applications and standards in the Southeast Asian market.

At the same time, the conference announced the inaugural WAIA Global Expert Panel, with the WAIA Certificate Issuance Ceremony for experts jointly officiated by WAIA Co-Chairman Weiqi Yang (William Yang) and Co-Secretary-General Johnny Dou. These experts from WAIA's founding and member organizations comprise top-tier academic, industrial, and governmental specialists from AIoT markets worldwide. They are as follows: Alessandro Bassi, Salvatore Cimmino, Zihang Yin, Aladin Pierre Gaston, Dr. Anna Lau, Spencer Liang, Ir. A WAIA Global Membership Certificate Awarding Ceremony was also held, recognizing new member enterprises such as XIAMEN XINDECO IoT Technology Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Century Building Technology Co., Ltd., Wuxi iData Technology Co., Ltd., Shenzhen ZKS Mobile loT Tech. Co.,Ltd., Shanghai ZLAN Information Technology Co., Ltd., Hangzhou RUHR loT Technology Co., Ltd., SeeMore loT Technology Co Ltd. and Shanghai TUGE Data Technology Co., Ltd., demonstrating the international influence and resource-sharing value of the WAIA community.

The summit concluded with the WAIA International Supply-Demand Matchmaking Session, where buyers, suppliers, and service providers from around the world engaged in negotiations covering AI + IoT technologies, products, project needs, and scenario matching.

An international networking reception followed, gathering over a hundred global buyers and featuring addresses from representatives including John Tay of Malaysian Change Maker Association and Spencer Liang of Taiwan Generative AI Association, all expressing hopes for deepened long-term communication and industrial collaboration.

During the IOTE exhibition from August 27 to 29, WAIA Alliance also set up a VIP Networking Area in Hall 11, hosted by Wilson Chong, Chairman of IOT HK Association, in order to facilitate global buyer and resource exchanges and boost supply-demand matchmaking.
