Tampa-based air quality testing firm has expanded its service area to include the entire Tampa Metropolitan area.

-- Air Allergen & Mold Testing and Richard Johnson are pleased to announce that the company has expanded its coverage for mold inspection and testing to include the Greater Tampa Metro area. The company's inspection process begins with a phone discussion about the reasons why the customer might be concerned about the presence of mold. Some of the health symptoms which can be present include asthma, allergies, headaches or loss of energy. The inspector will also need to know details about the property; and any unusual events such as odors, visible mold or water intrusion.

Air and dust samples are taken during the inspection to determine how much mold is present, where it is present, how mold growth has been influenced by intermittent events, what to do about it, and how to reduce mold growth in the future. At the time of the inspection, an estimate of the price for the restoration of indoor air quality is provided.

The Air Allergen’s mold inspection report includes guidelines to interpret the lab analysis for each sample type, a chart defining whether the sample results are inside or outside of the guidelines; the significance of sample results; inspector's observations; and suggestions for improving inspected areas if necessary, The Air Allergen report also provides guidance about maintaining future indoor air quality and reducing future mold growth; concluding remarks and cautions; information about how the mold sample guidelines were established; remediation guidance and suggestions when remediation is considered; studies in support of good indoor air quality; and one or more microphotographs of what was found in the samples.

A spokesperson for the firm explained, "There are many studies linking ingredients in the air we breathe to the onset of chronic diseases. We spend ninety percent of our time indoors. Poor air quality has been linked to coughs, headaches, dizziness, asthma, COPD, allergic reactions, sinus problems, depression, loss of energy, skin eruptions, itchy eyes, and many other diseases including cardiovascular disease and cancer."
