-- September 10, 2026 The ASEAN-China Smart Education Institute in Colourful Guizhou (ACSEI), an international digital education platform, showcased its approach to cross-border education cooperation at the Indonesia-China Education-Industry Collaboration Summit 2026, held at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology.

Drawing registrations from 131 higher educational institutions and bringing together more than 200 representatives from government departments, universities, vocational institutions and industries from China and Indonesia, the summit provided an important international platform for dialogue on education, talent development, technology exchange and industry cooperation. Within this setting, ACSEI presented its platform through an exhibition booth and a dedicated presentation during the Technology Exchange Session, engaging with Indonesian education stakeholders and introducing new opportunities for international digital education cooperation.

Established to advance the China-ASEAN Digital Education Initiative, ACSEI is designed as an international smart education service platform serving ASEAN countries and countries along the Belt and Road. The platform aims to deepen international education cooperation, promote the co-development and sharing of high-quality educational resources, foster innovation in cross-border digital education, and contribute to the development of a digital education community between China and its partner countries.

At the summit, ACSEI highlighted its integrated approach to international education cooperation, with capabilities spanning digital course and resource sharing, multilingual education, international study opportunities, industry-oriented talent development, professional certification and international exchanges. Its cooperation model also extends to joint development of courses and learning materials, specialised training, professional standards, AI innovation and education technology cooperation.

Rather than simply providing access to individual educational resources, ACSEI seeks to connect institutions, expertise, technologies and talent development opportunities across borders. This approach creates new possibilities for universities and vocational institutions to share resources, explore joint initiatives and strengthen international talent cultivation, while also supporting closer connections between education and evolving industry needs.

The ACSEI exhibition generated active interest and enquiries from Indonesian higher education and vocational education stakeholders. Visitors engaged with the ACSEI booth to learn more about the platform, its international cooperation model and potential areas for institutional collaboration. The afternoon recruitment session further expanded the event’s reach, attracting an estimated 200 to 300 students seeking employment opportunities. ACSEI was also introduced to participating students as a platform for continued learning and skills development, offering access to quality digital courses beyond the event itself. The response reflected strong interest in digital education resources, cross-border cooperation and practical approaches to skills and talent development.

ACSEI’s engagement in Indonesia represents a further step in its efforts to strengthen education connectivity between China and ASEAN. As digital transformation continues to reshape education and the demand for internationally oriented, industry-relevant talent grows across the region, ACSEI seeks to provide a platform through which educational institutions can connect resources, expertise and opportunities.

Looking ahead, ACSEI will continue to build connections with universities, vocational institutions and other stakeholders across ASEAN, exploring cooperation in digital education, resource sharing, skills development, talent cultivation and education technology. Through digital empowerment and international collaboration, ACSEI aims to contribute to a more connected regional education ecosystem and create new pathways for practical and sustainable China-ASEAN education cooperation.
