Compassiviste Publishing, a leader in socially conscious literature, unveils its new releases for April 2024. These new publications align with the company’s vision to use stories to inspire a more compassionate society.
Compassiviste Publishing kicks off its April releases with "The Adventures of Compassion: A Collection of Short Stories to Harmony," authored by its founder, Ali Horriyat. The book aims to take readers on a global journey of empathy and understanding. Inspired by Tintin's adventurous spirit, Horriyat's stories traverse bustling cities and tranquil rural settings, showcasing a yearning to explore the world and connect with its diverse people and cultures.
Based on Horriyat’s travel experiences, the stories present characters from around the globe grappling with real-world challenges, providing a glimpse into what connects all humans – who have their own trials and victories, and how all can benefit from having more compassion.
Horriyat says, “‘The Adventures of Compassion’ will take you on a global expedition, not in search of buried treasure or lost civilizations, but something far more valuable: compassion.”
Following this, Compassiviste Publishing presents "Pass the Salt" by Robert Kingett. This offers a candid and often humorous look at the challenges of online dating faced by a gay man with disabilities.
Kingett takes his readers back to the online dating scene in Chicago in the 2010s, introducing readers to a colorful range of characters, including the Fare Fan, the Smooth Catfish, and the dashing Richard. The book is a fresh, hilarious, yet thought-provoking take on the online dating scene, illuminating the broader social challenges of inequality and acceptance.
Horriyat shares his vision for the release: "Our April releases are more than just books. We aim to highlight underrepresented voices and issues through storytelling; to challenge the mind and open the heart."
In addition to its standalone titles, Compassiviste Publishing also produces a quarterly anthology highlighting a range of social, cultural, and environmental issues. All proceeds of these stories directly support the work of the Compassiviste Foundation.
