Whelpley & Paul Greece have announced they are upgrading their diagnostic technology with new tonometers and autorefractors, and are welcoming a new optometrist, Dr. Morgan Roehm.

Whelpley & Paul have announced that they are bringing a new optometrist, Morgan Roehm, O.D., as well as updated medical technology to their Greece practice. Between Dr. Roehm’s previous experience at their Brighton location, and more advanced technology including autorefractors and tonometers, patients have more options with the same high-quality care.

“Dr. Roehm is such a caring doctor, and she takes her time to understand her patients and walk them through their care,” said Dr. Jillian Beyer, the optometrist Dr. Roehm will join at Whelpley & Paul Greece. “We’re so excited to have her start. And coming in with our new diagnostics, I’m sure patients are going to get a next-level experience with her. We love being able to provide more choices for care — it’s one of the reasons Rochester has kept us around!”

A New York native, Dr. Roehm earned her Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry and returned to New York to provide comprehensive eye care to patients of all-ages. She was inspired to enter the field after shadowing an optometrist within her community and seeing how quality eye and vision care improved her neighbors’ lives.

“I can’t wait to start helping people at Whelpley & Paul Greece! I really resonate with their deep community ties, and I’m excited to help them bring their top-of-the-line optometry and eyewear to even more patients,” said Dr. Roehm. “I’ve known that Whelpley & Paul puts their patients first since I joined them at Brighton. With this updated technology, too, we can further prioritize our patient experience by giving them even more power to choose.”

The new technology being adopted includes autorefractors, which automate vision prescription measurements with a high degree of precision, saving patients time during the exam process.

Tonometers, meanwhile, measure intraocular pressure — that is, pressure inside the eye —to diagnose and monitor diseases like glaucoma. Some safely and painlessly touch the eye, while non-contact tonometers (NCTs) determine intraocular pressure with an air-puff. Patients can choose whichever method they are more comfortable with for a smoother and more personalized eye exam experience.

Both Dr. Roehm and Dr. Beyer are taking appointments at Whelpley & Paul Greece for new and current patients.
