Alpha Electrolysis in Wallingford, CT launched their updated effective electrolysis services for individuals with red hair, a population limited in hair removal options because of the lighter pigmentation in the hair follicles.

The launch of electrolysis for the redheaded population emerged from the need for a safe, permanent hair-removal option for ginger hair. Laser hair removal treatment does not work on red hair and the tendency of redheads to have sensitive skin complicates the hair removal process.
Electrolysis is a hair removal technique that permanently removes unwanted body hair. Men, women, and teenagers with all skin tones and hair types are eligible for the procedure. The FDA and the American Medical Association both recognize electrolysis as the only method for permanent removal.
For the procedure, the clinician inserts a fine probe into the hair follicle and then removes the hair with tweezers. Though some patients experience pain, most describe the sensation as “tingling.” After repeated treatments, hair will no longer grow in the treated area.
Though individuals with dark hair and lighter skin are the best candidates for laser hair removal, that technique is not permanent. After several sessions of electrolysis, however, the hair follicle is permanently destroyed and hair growth will no longer occur at that site.
After the initial free consultation, clients can expect a professional procedure with both pre and post-treatment care. The number of sessions required varies per client and can be discussed at the initial consult.
Alpha Electrolysis serves clients in Wallingford, Cheshire, Branford, Durham, New Haven, Cromwell, Rocky Hill, Berlin, Southington, and West Hartford.
Patricia Mitchell, owner of Alpha Electrolysis, is a nurse and certified medical assistant. “Electrolysis is the method that removes red hair and that you should pick if you have red hair,” she says. About a recent client, Mitchell explains, “I was able to treat her for her sensitive skin and to kill her unwanted red hair.”
