-- Linton’s Oriental Area Rug Cleaning in Vancouver, Washington announces a new tool to their oriental area rug cleaning process called the Rug Badger. According to Linton Becker, owner of Linton’s Carpet Cleaning the Rub Badger Dry Soil Removal System will allow them to more thoroughly clean oriental area rugs for their clients. The Rug Badger is a tool that is used during the dry soil removal process to remove far more dry soil than any normal vacuum cleaner can remove. This is important because oriental rugs can hold a huge amount of dry soil and it is this type of soil that prematurely wears out oriental rugs.

“The Rug Badger Dry Soil Removal System gets out far more soil, grit, and loose material in a rug than any vacuum will remove,” states Becker. “The removal of dry soil is critical to any carpet cleaning job, but a normal vacuum cleaner, in most cases, does not get out enough dry soil. This can lead to poor cleaning results and premature wear of the carpet.”
Unlike most vacuum systems the Rug Badger Dry Soil Removal System does not actually remove soil from the bottom up like a vacuum cleaner would. According to Linton’s Carpet Cleaning that is why normal vacuuming leaves so much soil in the carpet. “To be able to pull all of that deep down soil through thick fibers all the way up to the vacuum inlet is really hard to do,” says Becker. “A vacuum system would need to be super strong in order to do that and most are not strong enough.”
The Rug Badger actually is used on the bottom of the carpet, with the carpet fibers facing down, and then the machine is ran over the backing of the carpet using leather belts that safely “slap” the backing of the carpet creating a lot of vibration that releases the dry soil from the carpet. This dry soil is then simply swept up or vacuumed up once it is out of the carpet. The procedure is safe and extremely effective. The rest of the cleaning process is then continued.
