Manchester, United Kingdom - CardPop, the online retailer of pop-up greetings cards has launched its new collection ahead of the 2019 holiday season. Their range of 3D cards will include themes for birthdays, Halloween, Christmas and a range of special occasions.

-- CardPop’s Objective

Overseen by CEO and founder Christopher Hoole, CardPop specialises in a brand of pop-up cards that feature a handmade 3D sculpture in the centre. Dealing exclusively for the first time in the UK market through the company’s website (https://cardpop.co.uk/), Christopher argues that CardPop’s new range is introducing something new and dynamic to a stagnant product. “3D cards aren’t a new concept,” he said, “but it’s one we’re seeking to improve on by presenting a higher level of quality at an affordable price.”

A report by the Greeting Card Association in 2018 showed that UK consumers purchase more cards per person than any other nation at 33 each year, a fact Christopher points to with great enthusiasm. “I think in this new digital age, it’s great to see the spirit of traditional card gifting is still alive and well. By dealing online and offering a unique 3D product, we’re trying to bridge that gap and offer a new spin on an important market.”

Mr. Hoole argues that although the industry is still thriving, CardPop offers something different to what he says can sometimes be a ‘mundane’ gift. “The beauty of our cards is that they offer something a little extra special. The 3D figure inside is a beautiful surprise to really show your appreciation.”

About The Cards

Priced at £5.88 each, CardPop’s range of cards come in a variety of colours and designs that include themes such as dinosaurs and footballers, to unicorns and flowers. Each card features a laser-cut illustration on its cover and a 3D figure that folds out and up when opened.

Taking inspiration from origami and kirigami, the cards’ centrepiece 3D scene is made using carefully cut pieces of paper that are then hand-assembled and glued to the page in a way that also enables the figure to fold flat without damage. Like traditional cards, they can be left closed, or kept open and displayed on a shelf or mantlepiece.

Mr Hoole said, “We love creating themes that we would want to see, so we take great care to work with our craftsmen on the best designs possible.” Christopher goes onto say that they design “greetings cards to be as ethically diverse so as to better relate to their customers.”

Each card is packaged in a poly bag and comes complete with a fitted envelope. The card also features a pull-out tab for handwritten, personal messages.
