Emerging as one of the trendiest eateries to come out of the local Surrey BC food scene, Spice 72 Indian Restaurant & Lounge is establishing itself as a force to be reckoned with after a successful first year in business. The restaurant serves an exquisite menu of refined Indian flavours that spans across various culinary regions. Coupled with consistently great service and a relaxed dining ambiance, the restaurant is setting a new standard in Surrey’s Indian cuisine landscape.
Spice 72 is owned and operated by brothers Jaspal (manager) and Amarjeet Saini (head chef). Both have deep roots in the restaurant industry and bring a wealth of knowledge to the table. Upon asking what’s contributing to the early success, Jaspal replied, “We take pride in preparing our food daily from scratch with the freshest ingredients. We take pride in serving our customers as if they were guests in our own home. If you focus on being the best at those two things everyday, everything else will fall into place.”
Spice 72 is quickly gaining recognition from local foodies with some glowing reviews on its Facebook page, “Amazing food that is a true treat to your palette! The ambience, the staff/service, and quality of the food is top notch. Items on their menu are unique and a few appetizers aren’t offered anywhere else! Khaman-dhokla and batata wada are two examples. If you haven’t had the pleasure, definitely pay this establishment a visit!” Another reviewer writes, “Delicious authentic curry. Have been following this family and their restaurants for 2 decades. Never disappointed. Great service also.”
When asked if there are any plans in store for 2017, Jaspal said, “We’re looking to introduce some new and unique menu items later this year as well as happy hour specials for guests to enjoy.”
Spice 72 is on the verge of becoming an influential player in Surrey’s Indian cuisine and they look to set a strong foothold in the local restaurant scene for years to come.
