Stellar Dragons evaluated multiple criteria in order to narrow the field to the best 10 for Pathfinder 1E GMs & Players. These builds were selected out of a massive list of submissions with the following criterion:
- Must be playable from level 1 all the way to 20 without being dead weight for the rest of the party.
- Builds must be both Rules-As-Written and Rules-As-Interpreted as much as humanly possible.
- Must be strictly Paizo Official, no Third Party Products.
- Flavor & a convincing story is a must.
- Fun to play, powerful to an extent, but they must add enjoyment to the table.
Among the highest ranked are:
#1 The Hidden Priest - focused around a Divine Caster who hides that fact. Able to become a Phoenix nearly at-will & resurrect some distance away. Full caster levels, too.
#2 The Witch Slayer - Witch that focuses on slaying witches with hoards of undead. Strong Cold powers.
#3 The Iron Fox - Tricksy Kitsune fakecaster melee monster. No weapons required.
When discussing the reasons for creating the list, The Glass Walker, Principle Guide Author of Stellar Dragons said,
