-- When some people feel anxious or stressed they may book themselves a massage or turn on a meditating app. But for some people, mopping the floor or cleaning those shelves can be just as rewarding for the health of the mind as meditation can be. Scientists have been trying to see if there is an effect between cleaning and feelings of happiness. It so happens that there is.
A study done by Mr Clean in partnership with Ipsos Public Affairs shows that the process of cleaning triggers a spike in adrenaline thereby improving the mood, very similar to the feeling people get when watching a simulation, activity, or sports event. All the people who took part in the study agreed that cleaning gave them a feeling of control over their environment as well as peace of mind. 82 percent of them enjoyed admiring the work they had done and 81 percent felt a sense of achievement after finishing the cleaning task.
In a separate survey done by microfiber mop maker Dredge, they found similar results, “We surveyed our customers and asked them how cleaning made them feel.” Said Brian, “Over 80 percent of them said that they loved to admire their clean floors after mopping. Almost every participant who took part in the survey said that cleaning gave them a sense of accomplishment and made them feel proud. When asked which cleaning task they enjoyed the most, 76% said mopping was their most favorite with cooking and dusting in second and third.”
Brian continued, “what we found quite interesting was that of the 76 percent of people who chose mopping as their favorite, 92 percent of them said the flat microfiber mop system was their choice of mop and that if they had to revert back to the bucket and cotton mop style of mopping then mopping would no longer be their most favorite chore.”
Temples Pride was founded in 2015 with a mission to provide an environmentally friendly & effective microfiber floor mopping system. To further support their mission, they are also dedicated to reducing their environmental impact by helping to protect critical forest habitat. For every mop that they sell, they plant 1 tree.
