Many people were amazed that all of the images were taken in Stockport in locations they pass by every day but without really taking notice.

This exhibition is the culmination of a lifetimes ambition for Jeff Barnett, an experienced professional photographer who has lived in Stockport for over 35 years.
It has taken Jeff around 3 years and many hours of painstaking work to produce these unique perspectives of Stockport and the result is this exhibition.
The exhibition includes stunning views and panoramas of Stockport many of which were taken from angles, perspectives and lighting conditions very different from the norm.
For over 35 years Jeff has been a successful commercial photographer providing estate agents in the North West with top quality images of residential and commercial property.
Jeff was commissioned by Buckley Commercial to provide some striking panoramic views of Stockport. Stockport’s Vernon Building Society saw these and asked him to supply canvases to adorn the walls of Vernon Building Society’s Head office in Stockport. These panoramas were the seed of the idea and inspiration that led to this exhibition.
In his spare time Jeff as well as being a regular on the the dance floor is also a keen wildlife photographer who has spent many hours “On Safari” at Chester Zoo. Many of the images will be on show for the first time at this exhibition.
Jeffs’ talent is not just limited to photographing properties he has also been the official photographer at various night clubs from the early days of Fagin’s Manchester (UK) where he photographed stars of screen and stage inluding Canonn and Ball, Tony Christie, The Black Abbots, The Fantastics and Lynsey De Paul.
In more recent years he was the regular photographer at Bredbury Hall NIghtclub capturing the party atmosphere of weekend revelers.
When asked about the reasons behind creating this event, Jeff said: “I have always dreamt of one day having my own exhibition. “My Stockport and other Animals” is the culmination of that dream. I hope it will make people see Stockport in a new light”
