Parents and children alike are looking forward to the Summer Zone VBS annual event scheduled for June 26 – 29, 2017.
Summer Zone VBS is an exciting Vacation Bible School for ages four through twelve. Every year, hundreds of children from Springfield and other Fairfax communities participate in this interactive event. Children experience the life-giving truth of Jesus each night through music, relational small groups, games, and media. Since 2005 hundreds of kids have made the life-changing decision to follow Jesus at Summer Zone.
Leslie Thompson, Summit KidsLife Director at Summit Church, said, “Our Summer Zone Serve Team loves kids and will do anything to pump up kids for Jesus! Approximately 200 people from this Springfield church come together each year to plan and prepare for this epic children’s event. Summer Zone VBS is an amazing time for kids to make new friends, have loads of fun and most importantly, experience a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.”
This year Summer Zone is taking kids on an interstellar adventure called Galactic Starveyors. Endless discoveries of the final frontier await as kids discover that the God who created the universe loves them and wants a relationship with them.
When asked about the reasons behind creating this event, Stephanie Trayers, co-lead pastor of Summit Church gave some insight: “In the early years, people in the community would often ask if we offered a Vacation Bible School. It soon became clear that a VBS would be a blessing to not only to the children of Summit Church, but to the children of our community as well.”
