Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA – /PressCable/ —
Manhattan Music has been engaged to perform at the annual Young Patronesses of the Opera fundraising gala, to be held October 25th, 2014 at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Miami, FL.
The 59th annual gala will have the fabulous theme of Hats, Spats, and Pearls evoking an era of Cole Porter, the Rockefellers, The Great Gatsby and more. They anticipate a large crowd decked out in 1920's elegance as they enjoy a silent auction, dinner and dancing.
The proceeds from this charity event supports YPO's education programs of opera and music to the youth in their community.
Manhattan Music's bandleader, Howard Stuart, has performed for this event a few times before, and the crowd is a lively group, packing the dance floor.
“YPO understands they have to show the guests a great time to get them to attend each year to cover the cost of the event and meet their fundraising goals,” Stuart says. “Some charities feel guilty spending a lot on the event, but then don't get the attendance of the caliber of people that can donate the most to the cause. It's a bit counter-intuitive.”
Manhattan Music, a popular South Florida wedding band will be incorporating the “Great Gatsby” theme and performing music from the Roaring ‘20s and dressing in appropriate attire from the era.
After establishing the theme, the band will launch into dance music, covering popular dance floor hits from the Sinatra songbook on up through contemporary sounds from Beyonce and Black-Eyed Peas, whatever the crowd responds to.
“These are not just Opera aficionados, they like to party to all different styles, from Rock to Rap, Disco to Motown,” Stuart remarks.
