Solar Concrete Foundation Alternatives: Guide Launched By Nuance Energy Group

Nuance Energy Group Inc announces a new guide covering the best alternatives to concrete foundations for solar panel installations.

The new guide from Nuance Energy Group explains that while many residential companies purely specialize in rooftop designs, sometimes a ground-mounted system is needed, whether because of obstacles, shading from nearby trees, or if there's not enough structural support available on the property.

When installing ground-mounted systems, there are certain challenges for solar companies. The guide emphasizes the cost of heavy machinery, the need for extensive geotechnical reports, and the fact that large teams of skilled technicians are often required, which can slow projects down. Nuance Energy Group created its Osprey PowerPlatform® as a direct, easy-to-install alternative.

The guide explains that the Osprey PowerPlatform® can be installed using handheld tools such as rotary hammers and drill drivers. Nuance Energy Group says that this leads to its system being as easy as putting together an IKEA bookshelf, as customers don't need to pay for specialized teams.

Another advantage the Osprey PowerPlatform® has over traditionally installed systems is that it uses hot-dip galvanized earth anchors designed with penetrating teeth for ground insertion, so there's no need for ground excavation or cement pouring at any stage of the installation process.

Each earth anchor has a diameter of 1.5 inches, which makes them suitable for rocky areas. The platform also has adjustable legs, which offer over two feet of variability, making it easier to install on uneven terrain.

According to Nuance Energy Group, a three-person crew can install a 6kW photovoltaic system in under an hour. Similarly, a 2MW project - which typically takes 60 days with traditional approaches - is reduced to 16 days with the Osprey PowerPlatform®.

Thomas Boguess, the Finance Manager at Nuance Energy Group, states: "Our earth anchor system allows for nimble, fast deployment, making it easy for installers to scale up quickly and tackle multiple projects without being constrained by the need for heavy machinery."
