Shimmer Detail, a provider of premium auto, boat, and motorcycle detailing, has expanded with an Oak Ridge, New Jersey location. Still serving detail clients throughout northern New Jersey with its mobile service offering, interested parties can now drop their vehicles off in Oak Ridge.
Shimmer made news in 2020 as the pandemic took hold by offering a no-touch service that eradicated bacteria and viruses from the interior of a vehicle with an ozone treatment. Boat and motorcycle detailing were added later that year.
The new Oak Ridge location extends the physical presence into Morris County bringing Shimmer closer to the densely populated New York City market. Tucked into the rolling and densely forested hills of northwestern New Jersey, Shimmer is only 41 miles from NYC and 36 miles from the rejuvenated Hoboken area.
“The Oak Ridge community has thankfully welcomed us with open arms at our Elro Drive facility which is only 7 miles from our former Sparta headquarters on Main Street,” offered Tim Krueger, Owner, and Manager, “so we’ve been able to maintain a significant portion of our Sussex County clientele while gaining a foothold in Morris and Passaic Counties as well.”
Removing a wide range of bonded contaminants such as tar, tree sap, and mulch spores is part of the procedure that makes Shimmer Detail very different from the local car wash. The next step in the process to protect the paint, once it is pristine, ranges from applying pure ceramic coatings to graphene-infused sealants, both of which offer significantly stronger and longer-lasting protection than standard carnauba wax.
“Fall is typically busy for us as folks look to get their vehicles prepared for both the color tour season and the harsh winter elements that are right around the corner, ” Krueger said. “To accommodate our clients during this time, we’ve added a booking calendar to the website where they can view and reserve available service dates online.”
